About Me
Coach ۰ Guide ۰ Healer ۰ Writer ۰ Trainer ۰ Facilitator ۰ Daughter ۰ Sister ۰ Wife ۰ Friend ۰ Divine Being Manifested as a Black Woman
As a Holistic Life, Health & Leadership Coach I support high-achievers who want to live more, work less, and experience true fulfillment. I combine the spiritual power of intention and mindfulness with the tangible work of habit formation and lifestyle change to help my clients sustainably achieve their goals and realize their dreams.
As a former change management consultant, educator, career coach, and dementia caregiver, I bring wisdom, expertise, and training from a multitude of personal and professional experiences into my coaching containers. I take great pride in creating safe spaces for individuals who are ready to expand their impact as a leader while honoring their individuality, core values, and sacred boundaries.
When you’re ready to experience more mindfulness, authenticity, inner peace, gratitude, joy, creativity, beauty, and ease in your daily life, I help you create the space, mindset, practices, and habits needed to do so.
…
My offerings are spiritual practices established with the loving intention to encourage us all to let go of what is no longer serving us, individually and collectively. As we release what is not for us, we naturally begin to align with our higher selves - redefining success and fulfillment in ways that truly meet our unique needs.
The life you’ve been waiting for is within your reach.
Are you ready to walk towards it? Are you ready to claim what has always been yours?
My Journey
In 2016, after working as the sole Recruitment and Business Development Specialist for an up-and-coming woman-owned consulting firm, I began offering Resume & Career Coaching to share all that I had learned about the art and science of “getting the offer.”
In 2017, my mother officially received her diagnosis of early-onset Alzheimer’s, and I began my journey as a long-distance caregiver. I spent my late twenties - flying back and forth between Washington, DC (where I was building my career) and Cypress, TX (where my family lived) - juggling a new marriage, career advancement, caregiving, and being a parental substitute for my youngest sister (who was only 13 when my mom began showing signs of Alzheimer’s).
I overworked during my weeks in Washington, DC, so that I could have time off when I went to Cypress, TX. My days in either city often lasted 18+ hours, so that I could get everything done. I became the “perfect” daughter, sister, wife, employee, and friend. I was determined not to let my circumstances limit me. (And they didn’t, although all that over-extending did eventually catch up with me. You can read more about that here.)
By 2019, my personal experiences were reshaping my approach to coaching. I was no longer singularly concerned about helping my clients get the job. I also wanted to make sure that the job was actually right for them. I started asking questions like:
What are your core values? How do you see these reflected in the organization you’re applying to work with?
What will this new position or company provide for you? What are you truly seeking?
What does fulfillment mean to you? Will this opportunity help you feel fulfilled?
After several transformative sessions with my clients, I realized that I had expanded beyond the realm of Career Coaching and began training to become a Life Coach.
Toward the end of 2019, I also found myself at a personal turning point. The overworking, overextending, and overgiving left me completely drained. I was battling IBS and struggling to maintain all of the responsibilities I had taken on to be seen as “perfect.” I knew that:
I was operating inauthentically in the majority of my relationships
My professional career was no longer aligned with what I felt called to do
Continuing in the direction I was headed would have long-term negative impacts on my health
On the cusp of serious burnout, I shifted my job, let go of several responsibilities, and began the hard work of showing up authentically in all of my relationships. When the pandemic forced us all into quarantine, I rooted myself even more deeply in my intentions to live authentically, in alignment with my inner knowing.
What unfolded in the years since has been nothing short of a miracle - in truth, many miracles.
By September 2020, I was preparing for a long-term leave of absence at work so that I could follow my heart and become a full-time caregiver for my mom. I spent seven months living with my family, mothering my mother, and healing my inner child - only to realize that my mother wanted me to continue living my life.
In deep prayer and meditation, without her saying a word to me (as she’s been non-verbal for several years due to Alzheimer’s), I finally understood that she did not expect me to repay her sacrifices. She did not want me to earn her love by being the perfect daughter. What she wanted for me, and my siblings, is for us to live the best lives we possibly could - for us to be happy, healthy, and successful.
So, with my family’s blessing, I left Texas in 2021, moved across the country to California with my husband, and set about building the exact life I’ve always dreamed of.
My coaching practice is a part of that dream. It allows me to serve authentically, leverage my natural gifts to hold space for others, and play a small, but meaningful role in the movement for collective liberation.
Training & Certifications
In 2019, I began my formal training to become a Life Coach by completing the Foundations Program with MentorCoach, “the leading coach training school based on the integration of evidence-based coaching and the science of Positive Psychology.”
In 2020, I continued studying the intersection of Positive Psychology and coaching as a participant in the PQ Coach Training Program led by Shirzad Chamine, CEO of Positive Intelligence.
I also quietly launched Life & Leadership Coaching as a holistic offering for women of color. I began with two clients in February 2020. Within a year, without a website or social media, I was serving over two dozen regular clients, with many other women popping in for one-off or intermittent sessions when they experienced major life transitions. My business grew primarily by referrals, a testament to the quality of my coaching and the need to expand coaching beyond the C-suite (especially for emerging leaders of Color).
In 2021, I began working towards my certification in Integrated Energy Healing (IEH). As a certified IEH practitioner, I facilitate holotropic breathwork sessions, infused with chakra-based energy healing, to help my clients reach unparalleled states of presence, peace, and clarity.
In 2022, I received my Spiritual Life Coaching Certificate from Shola Arewa, a world-renowned author, coach, “Energy Doctor,” and pioneer in the fields of Spiritual and Wellness coaching. My training as a Spiritual Life Coach also further equipped me as a trauma-informed practitioner, able to support clients as they navigate and overcome complex and harmful challenges.
In 2023, I became a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN).
Currently, I am pursuing ACC accreditation with the International Coaching Federation through the Co-Active Training Institute (CTI).
I am a proud Alumna of Spelman College and hold a Master’s in Global Business and Finance from Georgetown University. I also hold certifications in International Business Diplomacy (Georgetown University), Project Management (Axelos), and Facilitation (Association for Talent Development).
